inspirational story on one way to do community…

i met Drew [an American Korean, me a South African] at a Younger Leaders Gathering conference in Malaysia in 2006 I think it was. [Kind of a Lausanne for younger people] and we had a really good time sharing with each other in the same small group. When I visited my sister in the States in 2006 I managed to spend a night at Drew’s place and visit his greatly diverse congregation and have been telling people stories about that brief visit ever since.

Now Drew is on the verge of planting a church in New York and he shared this blog post with me yesterday and it really moved me and I thought it was worth sharing. Living in an accessible and relevant community can have a lot in common with planting a church and this story just illustrates one aspect of how that can take place -  Check it out here. Enjoy.

Do you have any inspirational stories that you would love to share with other communities? Some of your weekly rhythms perhaps, or something that has recently touched your community in a deep way? Please email to brett@thesimpleway.org so that we can start sharing those stories to encourage and inspire others…
